Code of conduct for participating in Floasis gatherings, events, and member activities.
Floasis is a volunteer-led community. These rules describe how we expect people to treat each other and how we approach safety at gatherings and events.
By joining or participating, you agree to follow these community rules in good faith. If anything is unclear, ask a Floasis crew member or organiser.
Treat people with respect. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, or deliberately hostile behaviour is not acceptable in Floasis spaces.
Ask before touching people or their props, before filming or photographing others, and before involving someone in an activity. Respect a no at any time.
People join Floasis at different stages. Do not pressure anyone into performing, fire activities, volunteering, or any activity they are not comfortable with.
Floasis crew and event leads may give safety instructions for a venue, activity, or moment. Follow their directions, especially when fire, fuel, or crowd movement is involved.
Use flow props with awareness of the space and people around you. Do not swing, throw, or use props in ways that put others at unreasonable risk.
Fire performance and other fire activities are high-risk. Do not spin fire, use fuel, or participate in fire activities unless explicitly approved for that context and the required safety controls are in place.
Do not participate in fire activities, spotting, fuel handling, or other safety-critical roles while impaired by alcohol, drugs, fatigue, or anything else that could reduce your judgement or reaction time.
If you see a hazard, near-miss, incident, or behaviour that feels unsafe, tell a Floasis crew member or organiser as soon as you can. Early reporting helps keep people safe.
Floasis may pause, refuse, or remove participation where reasonably needed for safety, event integrity, or community wellbeing. This may apply to specific activities or to attendance at an event.
